Iris Rogers

Founder & CEO

Iris Rogers, 27, grew up on The Old Homestead, along with her brother and sister. Over the years, Iris aided with the maintenance of the estate, as well as the upkeep of their family farm.

Iris has spent her summers assisting local farms in crop production and harvest.  She worked with Merck Forest and Farmland Center for several years, as well as with Echo Creek Farm in Salem, NY.

Iris' career path started very early in life. In her senior year of high school, she was scouted at a gas station by the mother of a model agent in Greenwich, NY. Unsure of college plans, Iris signed with NEXT model management, and immediately moved to New York City to start her modeling career. After some time in the industry, Iris decided to take her career in a new direction. Having studied voice since the age of nine, Iris decided to audition for a few college programs. She was accepted into the Conservatory of Music at Purchase College and after four years, Iris graduated with a B.M. in Vocal Performance, with a focus in Opera. She performed several roles in her time there, including the role of Hänsel from Hänsel und Gretel, Arnalta & Nutrice from L'incoronazione di Poppea, and Rebecca Nurse from The Crucible. After college, Iris spent two summers working for the Yale Summer School of Music assisting with the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival in Norfolk, CT.

In her second Summer at the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, Iris had the opportunity to help grow hemp on her family farm in Upstate New York. Her sister Sarah came up with the idea to apply for the Industrial Hemp Pilot Research program, and once approved, the two sisters worked together to get the new business off the ground. With two years of growth under her belt, Iris now takes on the role of sole managing member of Homestead Hemp. She is more than thrilled to see where this 'New Direction' is going to take her beloved family farm.
